Eleuthera Lisch, soteria.’s Executive Director

Eleuthera is a creative strategist, social change innovator, advocate for social justice and champion for community safety and wellbeing. She has over 25-years’ experience developing, implementing, and bringing to scale cutting edge violence prevention, gang intervention, public safety, and community reconciliation programs nationally and internationally. Eleuthera was awarded a Champion for Change Award from the Obama Administration for her work with the Dept. of Justice in 2012 and is featured as a model "social change agent" in Paul Shoemaker’s 2015 book, Can’t Not Do, The Compelling Social Drive that Changes the World. She is proud to be the daughter of artists/activists who made significant contributions to culture shifting social movements and to in turn be a mentor to emerging young leaders. She is a founding member of City3 Theater and an alumna (’93) and current board member of Cornish College of the Arts.

Select Social Impact Projects:

Program Development:

  • Created the nationally and internationally recognized Alive & Free Youth Violence Prevention/Gang Intervention Program

  • Partnered with law enforcement officials to designed and implemented Safe Passage, Safe Streets and Gunshot Victim Response projects to reduce gun violence and prevent youth homicide in the Pacific Northwest

  • Partnered with Seattle Police Department to create Torchlight Public Safety Teams to reduce gun and street violence at major public events

  • Worked on President Obama’s White House and Department of Justice’s National Forum on Preventing Youth Violence and My Brother’s Keeper Initiatives

  • Worked with CDC, Prevention Institute, Departments of Justice, Education, Housing, and Labor on Public Health Approach to Youth Violence Prevention emphasis across all federal Opportunity Youth initiatives 

  • Partnered with Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll, Microsoft and Starbucks to found A Better Seattle- A Regional Violence Prevention Strategy
